Varmints

Summary:

The small dog-like creatures lived in the peaceful nature. But suddenly their world was invaded by the industrial civilization. One of the invaded varmints, slid into the industrial world, then realized that there lacked the green, full of dirty atmosphere. The varmint treasures his little plant, take care of it. Around the varmint, there were also creatures but they looked different, depressed and had curved backs. They seem to have no interest in things around them.

After some time, his and some of other plant seemed to dropped seeds and they were the key of this story. The seeds hatched and turned into a big jellyfish-like massive floating thing. The little varmint and their species were saved, managed to go up above the sky with the jellyfish, other creatures were remained.

Opinion:

I think that the invasion stands for the human activity in the modern world, to indiscriminately settle the nature. I recalled the story of Inuit people, originally lived in the northern sea of Canada and Greenland. They were forced to go to the school in the city, and taught the language they didn't know. These things can happen also between humans, in different ethnic groups. It is important to respect and conserve the original situation. Just to cultivate is not always the answer in this global world today.

Also, the situation of the jellyfish made me think of a looping world. The world in the jellyfish looked like the world in the very beginning of the story. Another group of cultivation could grow, and invade the green world inside it someday.
