-unknown (seems to be otherworldly or set in the future)

-the Thing seems to be lost

-the boy can't keep the Thing

-the boy doesn't know what the Thing wants or where it belongs

-between the parents and the boy (about keeping the Thing)

-people can't see the Thing


Climax

-the boy and the Thing finally finding where it belongs, its home


Symbol

the Thing

-letting go of past self

-leaving you younger self behind

-having forgotten the innocence they once had resulting in them seeing odd things

-given it up to the "dark company" (a tainted industry?)


Irony

-despite seeming eager to keep the Thing, the boy tries to give it away rather quickly

-most adults can't see the Thing

-the boy had grown attached to the Thing but the goodbye was rather curt

-Help those that are lost

-Never loose the childish part of you

-Don't grow up too fast

-Imagination should be kept in a safe place, not to be forgotten

-Don't sell your soul to dark corporations
