-the boy argues with his parents about how they can't keep the Thing in his house

-He doesn't know what the Thing desires or where it’s supposed to belong to
-between the parents and the boy (about keeping the Thing)

-the boy finally finds where the thing belongs( or rather made a place for it to belong to)

-despite trying to keep the Thing and help it, the boy tries to part ways with it rather quickly
-Most adults either can't see the Thing or tend to ignore it’s existence
-the boy originally wanted to hurry up and find a way to not have the thing in his house but had grown attached to it (however the scene where they parts ways and say goodbye was rather short and bittersweet)
