next hair color

 I got my hair dyed for the first time at the beginning of May. I though it pretty changed but my mother still hasn't noticed :-(

I wanna dye it again soon, maybe in a brighter color.

2 month in university

Today I suddenly realized that I've been at university for two months. I can not believe how early time flies. Back in April, I was so nervous that I may not be able to make any friends at all. However, everyone in this class was nice and polite, and soon I got used to this environment. I'm happy with my situation and would like to travel with my friends in the near future :)

On Tuesday me and my friends went to karaoke. We only had an hour to go but it was fun! I might go by myself again lol.

Book report II

 For my second book report in IEIII, I’m thinking of doing a literary analysis on George Orwell’s 1984

I have had this book in my room for a while now, and I think it’s about time I actually get reading. I’ve heard it’s a great book and a must read so I’m kind of excited about it.

I choose “And then there were none“ for my second book report. I’m really excited to read it. 

Energy drinks are addictive

 Hi, I currently have a bad habit of mine. I really like energy drinks, especially Monster Energy, 

And I drink a lot of it. Almost three or four cans a day. It is said that energy drinks, especially Monster energy, is considered a health hazard even if consumed in moderation. And me taking in a lot (basically an overdose amount of caffeine), is very bad for my future health. I’m thinking of quitting energy drinks entirely because I want to live healthier. I’ll start by decreasing my daily intake and then gradually taking that to zero cans a day. I hope to fulfill this goal. Although it may be tough for an energy drink addict like me, it will pay off in the end.

Club camp ②

　On day 2, we started off the day by hearing presentations from seniors who have continuously been active in the world. It was very interesting to listen to what the major factors were for them to make their decisions and what they were able to achieve through their challenges. 

　

In the afternoon, my group was told that we were chosen to present our findings to everyone in front of the stage as a representative of the English team. We were told all of a sudden, so we immediately made corrections and got ready to think up the script and how to present our findings. Without realizing it, the presentation section started and we were on stage. At first, my legs and arms were trembling, but as soon as the presentation started, I was enjoying the time with my group, sharing our findings with everyone. 

　

The whole experience I had in this 2-day camp was a memorable one and my thought of wanting to become a global leader to contribute to society became stronger!

Club camp ①

　

　Last weekend, I participated in my club activities camp program called “Blue Odyssey”.Participants from the same club activity from different universities gathered and did several activities to understand global issues and solutions. This camp was separated in the East and the West and I participated in the East side, where I was able to make friends from many universities such as Meiji, Rikyo, Sophia, Waseda, Keio, Tsukuba, and Tokyo University. 

　On the first day, we started off by introducing ourselves to our individual group members and chose one SDG problem to debate and discuss. My mentor was a senior from Keio, and group members were from Meiji and Rikyo University individually. My group chose the SDG goal no.17 “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development” because we all agreed that partnership is the most important thing when it comes to sustainable development. We discussed and came up with 3 sections, pain, parties and why. In the pain section, we searched up what kind of global issues are still going on, discussed who is involved in these issues in the parties section, and conferred the reason why global partnership is hard to develop. 

　

　At night, we visited the seniors and heard a lot of personal experience talks like what financial support aid they programmed in their overseas travel, how they contacted the overseas branch, and what kind of skills they were able to earn and hone.

Varmints

 summary
Varmints' story starts with an unknown character looking happy in their environment. The environment was filled with greens and was overall a happy place. However, that greenery filled city soon turned into an eerie city filled with tons of towers while the grass turned into concrete. And all of the different animals looked like tired and angry businessmen. The main character then spent a few days in an uncanny apartment cherishing the leftover plant that the apartment had. Soon after, he met another animal that was the same kind as him in the elevator, and he kept her in thought throughout the story. He then decided to go outside to gather some water for his plant, when he found a circle blob that was kind of squishy. He didn't know what it was, but kept going about his day. Later, the city started to rumble, kind of like an earthquake, and the character knew he had to run away. When he looked outside during that "earthquake" he saw all of the animals of his kind escaping the city using the squishy ball that turned into a big transportation tool which looked like a jellyfish. He thought to run, but he remembered the animal who he saw in the elevator, and went back to get her, but she had already ran and she was not in her room. He came back running up the stairs to go, but was too late. However, the jellyfish for some reason came back for the character, which saved him in the end. 

reaction

I thought this story was something that was easy to understand, but still it had a deeper meaning behind it, which made it more interesting. I felt like the stories' deeper meaning was associated with our real life. For example, our world used to be filled with greens but later turned into a place filled with buildings and people that are miserable from working. Moreover, by adding the "girl" character in the film made it seem a little like a love story which didn't really go anywhere, so I didn't understand the meaning behind that part. However, when the main character got saved by the jellyfish, I thought maybe that part had to do something with it. For example, I thought that it could mean that the jellyfish saved him because of his kindness. From this story, I wish to protect and cherish the nature like in the story and never take anything for granted.

My sister's birthday dinner

My family and I went to celebrate my sister's birthday this past Sunday. We went to an Italian restaurant. I was in charge of getting my sister flowers so I went to go get a bouquet for her beforehand. There was a conflict between my mother and sister but it was an enjoyable time.

This weekend I went to a island called "sarushima". It was a island in Kanagawa prefecture, and it was beautiful. Also there were no monkeys even though the name of the island is monkey island.

Barney & Friends

 Today I’m going to write about a tv show I used to watch when I was little. It is called Barney & Friends. When I was little my parents didn’t let me watch Japanese cartoons, so I just kept watching this tv show. I ended up being traumatized by this giant purple dinosaur. However it’s kinda fun to rewatch the show you used to watch.

practice

This weekend I had my practice of the sports I participate in.

It was a fun and existing practice and there were many points for I'mprovement. Overall it was a fun and productive weekend.
